Two weeks old Audi S3 brought in for a refinement of dealership swirls/defects and ceramic coating to all major surface and placed on a maintenance programme.
Method
Preparation:
- Pre wash stage to remove loose debris
- 2 Bucket method with grit guards and high-end mitts
- Iron out/Detar/Clay bar treatment to remove any stubborn/bonded contaminants
Machine Polish
Upon inspection it was clear that an enhancement machine stage would be ideal in this application to remove defects and light scratching from the dealership and handling. Pad and Polish combination in this instance were from Carbon Collective which works effectively on harder paint types.
Coating
The paintwork was cleansed down using Gyeon prep spray and the surfaces were ready for coating. A combination of two different ceramics were used to build the 7-year self-healing ceramic coating, Carbon Collectives Nero and Molecule coatings achieve this, two base layers of the Molecule 9H hardness coating were applied, followed by two coats of the Nero 3.5H hardness Self-Healer as a top coat. All door sill and jambs protected in the same manner as the body. The wheels were removed, decontaminated and coated in Carbon Collective wheels 9H hardness as well as the exhaust tips and calipers. Glass, Trims. Leather and Plastics all required minimum prep work and coated in Carbon Collective and Gyeon Quartz for the leather and plastics. Carpets and matts were protected in Carbon Collective Repel.
